"I have struggled with IBS since I was 17 years old. I was diagnosed when I was 19 and it's been a battle ever since. I was constantly pumping myself with Gas-Ex for pain, Migraine medicine, headache medicine, laxatives, fiber therapies that one mixes into a drink, fiber therapies in pill form, special yogurts and the list goes on. I resorted to the fact that if I didn't go to the bathroom for a couple of weeks, that's just the way it was. If I went on vacation or I was away from home? FORGET IT! I wouldn't go at all and then I was so backed up I couldn't go when I came home. It's gotten so bad that I was hospitalized TWICE for constipation because I was in so much pain the X-Ray had to tell me I was backed up. The doctors sent me home and told me to take Ex-Lax...UGH! As the years went on as a very active individual, between dancing and other sports, a short hiatus of working out would lead me into incapacitating itch upon the start of activity. I clearly gave up my hopes of running a marathon...I couldn't even walk for 10 minutes! On top of my body feeling like it was allergic to exercise, I became allergic to my own cat as well as all kinds of dogs...I would react after only a couple of minutes. I was becoming miserable. As someone who considers Whole Foods and Earth Fare the Holy Grail of how to live, continually popping these pills was getting to me. I decided to move out of Philadelphia and to North Carolina for a drastic life change and a new job. While going through a very stressful transition I, again, didn't go to the bathroom for almost a month. I started having back pain to the point where I couldn't stand, I was always nauseous, and I couldn't stop craving all that was bad for me.

I moved to North Carolina and I hadn't even been here a week when I called Darlene. I called her frantic telling her what was going on and that I needed help! I was skeptical at first but she is so knowledgeable and informative that I began to worry less. I, since, have taken all of my conventional over-the-counter medicines and prescriptions and put them in a bag tied up and in the bottom of my closet. I have not had to touch them in a month! She even gave me some advice for what herbs to take for my cramps and they work better than the standard advertised PMS/Cramp medication! I'm hooked and I never want to go back.
